So I finally got around to scanning my con sketches up to date, be it just two cons :p But anyways here they are. One thing is though, I seriously need to remember the names of the artists that do sketches for me so I can give them credit :p

Thanks to my roommate NightWulf, here are the badges that I got at the con!

Well I am back from a week of vacation and wonderment. What a time… what an amazing time it was! Hmm, where to begin…

Well I hit the airport Thursday afternoon. I have to admit that from my previous times going to the airport this one was quite different. I haven’t been to the airport since I was thirteen if I recall right, and it was always done with my other, whether it would be taking a trip back to Guatemala or something the like. I always had a knot in my stomach of anticipation because on one hand I was nervous about the trip and wanted to stay home, and on the other I kinda wanted to go. Well in this trip it was clear and obvious that I wanted to go and now! It was my first time flying by myself, making the arrangements on my own and paying for my own vacation, made me feel a bit more independent and what not. The flights went by smoothly and within time I landed to Pittsburg, where I caught a taxi over to the hotel.

As I got there, it felt like home again. Seeing various furs with their badges and others in fursuits. Quite excited to be there, waiting to meet up with friends. I hit the front desk and checked in where I ran into canid_anubis, swiftfoxfire  and his mate Vulpes. We had got ourselves settled into the room and as we made our way to get something to eat, Canis introduced me to a number of furs he knew and such. We ate pizza, and it was interesting how welcoming the place was to furries. Some of the food shops and a bar or two were furry friendly and noted so on their signs, which was warming in it’s on way. As we walked about I got a small taste of what Pittsburg was like. All I could say is that I was a bit blow back and how empty the city felt, and I was reminded that we were in the business district of the city. Still, after being use to San Francisco’s city life and the streets filled with cars and people 24/7, it was just crazy how a city with tall buildings and such hardly had any cars around and few passerbys. There after Canis and I went up on the roof of the convention center, where two streams of blue lights flashed brightly at the dark sky with texts from some odd read or poem. We took to taking in the city’s night scene for a good while with small talk before we retired for the night.

 

Friday the festivities began and AnthroCon was on! Canis and I went to a small diner for some breakfast, and the food was good. Heading back to the hotel I ran into a good dragon friend 

makuus and his boyfriend kelbypup. Was great to finally meet him. Anyways we took about to the opening ceremonies. After that I went for the Dealer's Room to drop off my sketch book here and there, as well as grab up a badge or two and meet up with screwbald again. While there I ran into Makuus again, and being the dear dragon he is, he gave me a gift. I believe these are cosmo beads if I recall right, and a gift I hold dear. Thanks again Mak! I led myself around making small purchases with what my budget could lend. Sometime after I ran rockwolf, who I got to chat and catch up with a bit. Nice guy over all. The group of Canis, Swift, and Vulpes, we often went out to eat together, and later the night Mak and Kelby joined us for drinks later the night at a local pub. We came around to the dance later that night to watch, and well, I reluctantly got in the mix, though I did have a bit of fun.

 

The next day continued to be filled with fun as I ran into the small number of faces and names that I knew here and there. Checking out the Dealer's Room, Artist Gallery, as well as hitting the art show. My budget couldn't afford any of the pieces but it was still nice to look around and see what was up for bids. Had I had more money, chances are I would have liked to try and bid a few decent dragon pieces, ones that Yami Gryphon and Hibbary had made were quite nice. That aside there weren't too many pieces of art I wanted to grab. I tried to look around for a dragon charm, as the once Harry Potter seal that I had for my belt broke, I was looking around for something a bit more suitable. No luck but no worries at the same time. Later on the group of us went to 2 Gryphon's show, and my god it was hilarious! Near nonstop laughter for me. I was introduced to 2's show and rants some time ago, but only heard a few small pieces of it. Now after seeing him live I'm gonna hit his site back and check it over again. After that the group wanted to go to the roof and check out the astrofur's show/panal. The night provided nice as I got to spot a few planets and stars along with my friends. Thereafter we hit the dance again, where I once again made a fool of myself. Heh. Speaking of fools, I got to see Canis get a bit drunk as far as things go. Kinda funny to be woken up by a lumbering wolf plopping himself to bed.

Well the last day of the con rolled around. I went around the Dealer's Room picking up the last of the commissions and such. The last of the events were to be had; the fursuit parade was enjoyable as well as the talent show. There was a section at the Dealer's Room where they had brought in dogs that were up for adoption, and one of them was a husky. Naturally I simply had to meet the husky as I had been without my little Syrus and missed him being far off from home. 2 did his radio show at AC which was fun to clue into and Kage's Story Time (an AC tradition) was great as well. There was the Smash Bros. AC Tournament, and naturally I got knocked down round one. Kinda hard when my first opponent used the same character against me, but fun was had. Had one last round of drinks with the group before hitting the room parties with Canis. We had hit Perro's room party which was quite a fun show, caught a bit of story exchange with some random furs at the lobby before hitting bed to close up the con.

I'm sure there are a bit more stories to tell here, but those are the highlights that come to mind. Much much fun was had at AnthroCon, and there is no question or doubt that I simply must attend next year. For now though, I look forward to FC and such. Naturally I have the rest of the year ahead of me to regain my financial situation, pay off AC, and work for the next con, more than enough time. I do hope that with a bit of better planning I can hope to also make it to MFF as well, but that will be for a farther reach of the cons later on. Oh but this dragon's adventure does not stop here, more was to be had! After the convention was over I rode along with Canis, Swift, and Vulpes back up to Maryland, in which I shall share on a following post~
