Their second album I really like, though the style change is obvious and more mainstream (one would say "emo" as well but that's such a bad and misused word in today :P ) which I don't mind. There is more emotion and such in these songs, and some have more fire which is also great. But here, I'll provide a video or two of these guys:
From Yesterday Music Video
Attack Music Video [The song is great to the video is a bit meh to me]
Buddha for Mary Song [I just love how crazy this song is]
Oblivion Song [Also crazy and just makes one fly]
Well since then I've been curious as to what other artists would ring similar to 30 Seconds to Mars. Granted I've listened to alternative rock radio stations now and again and I've made a list of what songs I liked and what bands I need to research and listen more too ya know. Well I went to Yahoo Music and used their feature of "Similar Artists" and it rang up a number of artists who I was originally curious about. On a similar note, I was directed to SIXX AM, and here's a video to go along with it:
Further on is this video from the Foo Fighters. It's craaazy awesome:
That is one thing the Foo Fighters know how to do. Make songs that are just a complete giant rush.
Well to end things, I'd like to hear from you guys. Since being on this music kick I want to keep it up and grab me some albums. I am really keen in looking for artists that have a similar sound to 30 Seconds to Mar's Buddha for Mary and Oblivion. Later on I'll want to grab other artists from the music I just shared with you guys. Toss me some mainstream and some underground guys, and even if they aren't similar to these named artists but you think I might like them, toss them any how.

Sorry,I can't help it but the guy in black long hair from "30 Seconds to Mars" looks emo to me.
Maybe it's because I've a total craze on the 80'S pop and electronic music;)
But if you happen to like it too than I can recommend you a couple of songs and stuff.
If not,than I'm useless;)

Yeah he does have that emo look going on. That's the thing I do like that kinda style and such, I just hate how "emo" is just so associated with skinny little boys wearing make up, writing in journals of depression, and thinking of cutting themselves in the darkness of a spider's web. If that wasn't so tagged on the "emo" genre of things could be a lot better.
Sure, recommend anything ya like ;] I'm always willing to give things a listen here and there.
So,this is a Vidoeclip from Irene Cara's song "Breakdance".
In certain moments it may seem to be corny, but remember it was 1983;D
Oh and one of my favorite Polish songs by Kombi "Black and White" from 1985.
Some non-consensual scenes,so watch out;)

Other songs by them I recommend: Attack Music, Oni Kumos Adventure.
Most of their songs are available free from their website.
I'll use this opportunity to plug one of my absolute favorite rock bands, since very few people have heard of them in the states: Porcupine Tree. Their stuff is varied and ventures far outside the realm of alternative (whatever that may mean), but you may dig it. I like them because they use a lot of substantial keyboard atmospheres.
