Well gotta say this weekend turned out to be great! Sage and Tenebris were out on vacation hitting the east coast so me and Hunter had the place to ourselves. This week was a party week, so I took it up to host the party. I was a little skeptical if anyone was going to show up since Sage wasn't hosting aside from the small handful of party regulars, but the turn out was bigger than expected and great. Hunter helped in setting up the place, I got the music ready and set it to a nice alternative rock station that was playing a nice variety of music. Got the lights set up, entertainment station ready, all systems go.

Furs came in and brought in some food to help out which was great, as I didn't have enough cash on hand to order more food that I wanted for the party doing it on the fly. They also complimented how they liked that they weren't shouting over the music like previous parties, and how the music was this weird zany mixes that Sage has. Maybe for future parties I'll take over the music department :p Aside from that, I got to embarrass [info]basilbadger for his birthday by announcing it to everyone. There after we got the good stuff going and set up Smash Bros Brawl. Had lots of fun with it naturally, so great to be Pokemon Trainer and play as Charizard ;] The party held up to like 4 AM and a little after.

Woke up early as there was a Smash Bros Brawl tournament being held in the city sponsored by Best Buy. Few of us went to compete and it was a ton of waiting but worth it for the fun. The three of us got knocked out on the 2nd round but we all put up one hell of a fight. Fun stuff. Of course we got tiny prizes just for competing. After that I joined up with some of the guys over at Guppy's place for his birthday, then crashed with Basil for the night. Was pretty drained after all that craziness, but all fun indeed.

Gotta say I would like to put more money to these parties, as in getting actually bedding for our guests, good party music, lights, etc. Maybe that will come when I settle in to a more permanent place ;]

I'm sorry to say that I probably won't be coming up there to the parties much for a while. I really don't want to drive all that way and sit on my laptop or watch other people do the same. I'm not into Brawl at all, which sounds like the going theme for the next few parties at least, like how Rockband was.

Perhaps in a few months when the Brawl excitement has died down I'll come up and visit. Until then have fun... glad the party went well. *snug*

Oh you silly wolf :p

Well sorry to hear you wont be around. Wish we could mix things up a bit more here, that would require me having to pitch in some money for it which I'm not willing to do for a number of factors ;p But who knows what will come up.

It's not something that you need to throw money at. There really are only two areas to hang out in. Most of the people that go seem to enjoy video games more than movies or random internet stuff. I'm just not a video game person. At least not for Smash Bros.

Nothing for you to worry about. Not your fault. It's just me. =)

People can only look at T-shirts that say things for so long.

Good to hear you were having fun at the party!
I ought to organise one at my place,it's been ages since the last one.

That indeed. Our parties are a bi-weekly thing here in the bay area. Being in San Francisco has been tough since furs have to travel some distance to get here, but cool to see them none the less!

I've always been of the opinion that music should be mellow filler and not the center of attention for parties. Nothing too hard, loud or fast. And there's nothing wrong with potluck parties. Those are actually the best parties since you're almost certain everyone will have something they like. :9

I have to agree. Whenever the lion to lead of the parties the music was always blasted which made hard for conversation. Would be fine for dancing but our places is too small for such a thing :p But I'm glad the guests were pleased with how I made it happen ;]

You're turning into quite the little party organizer^^. As for food issues, do whats' done at fc and everywhere else for that matter. Everyone whos' attending is asked to chip in a little for the food, whatever that may be. Much more planning ahead of time will help with this, by getting in info. on what people like or are willing to try. Same for drinks. They all come and partake/consume, they oughta help chip in a little. Even if only 5 bucks, it still helps.

And perhaps start laying down some rules for people attending, bare basic shit, namely, PUT THEIR FUCKING TRASH IN THE TRASH:P. Have separate bags (Large ones) for each of the different things, like Sage has setup, then you all won't have to sift through it and separte it all later. But yea, people need to get their shit together, They're guests in someone else's place. Having all that done/set up will make for an even smoother ride, granted its' followed heh.

We usually have a little donations jar or cup for people to freely pitch in. Some of the furs did help pitch in money when I ordered pizzas because I was a few dollars short so that helped.

Surprisingly the after party mess was very easy to clean up and minimal. The only real cleaning was washing dishes and glasses, throwing away a few chip bags, and putting all the drinks back so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Unlike previous party days when it was a complete mess and no one would pick up after it. But the crowd has indeed improved and glad they were supportive when I hosted this party ;]

Maybe one of these days when I have the time and money, I'd like to organize some kinda room party at the fur cons, so who knows~!
